Locnville - More than meets the eye

Locnville - More than meets the eye

Before I begin, I would like to emphasise the fact that I write from personal opinion alone. On occasion, some may not take well to or feel offended by what I write. I can assure you that, it is by no means my intention to judge or question the views or opinions of others, neither is it my intention to judge Andrew and Brian based on what I see. My aim is simply to explore myself, the world around me and in this case, Locnville from every possible angle.

It is clear that Andrew and Brian, despite the fact that they are twins, are not identical. I’ve always wondered why it is that some, myself included, find themselves more attracted to the one than to the other. As individuals, we are certainly entitled to our preferences , but are those preferences based solely on their physical appearance. Is it possible to see beyond that? Is there more to them than meets the eye? In other words, is what you see what you get?

I’ve always been one to ask questions, I rarely take things at face value. I seek to discover the answers to the one’s never asked, as well as to those many are afraid to. I look to explore things from every possible angle before formulating an opinion or presenting my point of view, whether it be of something or of someone.

It is said that, we are defined by our morals and values, by the standards we choose to live by and also by the decisions we make. We are judged not only by our words, but by our actions too.
I’m sure we’ve all, on more than one occasion, either heard or used the sayings “Never judge a book by its cover” and “First impressions last”. I’ve come to notice that, they in actual fact contradict each other. To put it in plain English, the one basically says judge and the other says don’t. There is no right or wrong. In the end it is a matter of principle, a matter of what you believe in.

When writing about Locnville, I always look to taking the unconventional approach, like I said, to explore things from a different angle in order to gain new perspective.
I have in my previous articles established that, Andrew and Brian have been defined as the fastest rising stars who took the South African music industry by storm. They have proven that, behind the pretty faces are two talented and dedicated musicians who are passionate about what they do.

The main focus thus far, because of the fact that they are twins, has been on what makes them different from each other in terms of likes, dislikes, preferences and so forth. What really interests me, is not what makes them different from each other, but what defines them as individuals. What is it that makes each of them who they truly are?

I believe that there is a difference between what someone is like and what defines them. To elaborate, one would use characteristics such as being shy, outgoing or eccentric, to name a few, in order to describe someone. In an attempt to define them, one would refer rather to their morals, values and the standards they choose to live by.
Unfortunately, in order to really know what defines someone, one would either need to have a personal relationship or have had spent a sufficient amount of time with them.

To conclude, there is certainly more to Andrew and Brian than meets the eye. In this case, some of what is hidden won’t be brought to the light. On the other hand, sometimes being left wondering may not be such a bad thing. It is after all what leaves us intrigued, curious and coming back for more.
